Agenda

Pre Program

Before Elevate Her officially kicks off you are set up for experience with pre-work. This will prepare you for the program and it includes a brief online assessment and training to arm you with tools, strategies and frameworks that your can implement at Elevate Her. Allow 1 - 2 hours to complete the pre-work.

Day 1: Immersive Day in the Life of a Leader

8:30am - 5:00pm

You will experience a day in the life of an executive of a large infrastructure organisation. In the pre-work you will learn about the organisation and on the day you will receive your personal agenda with one on one meetings, tasks and decisions for the day.

You will make the tough calls, be put on the spot and connect with mentors who have been the CEO, Board member or executive in real life. Here is what participants experience in the Elevate Program.

It’s like “Thank God You’re Here” for leaders.

Morning Session

After a quick briefing you will be in to the thrust of the day. You’ll be developing strategy, practicing your pitch, making decisions, all while your team come to you with requests left, right and centre.

Lunch

After a fast paced morning, you get to break character and network with real senior Executives from across industry. This is a great chance to meet Mentors, ask for pointers and feedback before you throw yourself back in.

Afternoon Session

This is the final challenge of the day. You might have some tricky conversations to navigate, or lucrative business decisions to mull over and navigate. Here you will need to get strategic.

Networking (Optional 5:00 - 6:00pm)

Once the hard work is out of the way, it’s time to celebrate. You got to the other side, and you’re still in one piece. Congratulations! Now is the time to crack a beer (or sparkling water) and connect with the incredible leaders who are in your Elevate Her cohort and a selection of our mentors. This is a great way to build your peer network of leaders for the future.

We understand that you might have caring responsibilities so this session is optional.

Day 2: Meet the Leaders, Create your Plan

9:00am - 4:00pm

Morning Session

Hear the real stories behind successful careers in construction and infrastructure. You’ll meet emerging and experienced female leaders who’ll share how they progressed, the decisions they made along the way, what they’ve learned and what they wish they’d known earlier.

We’ll also have a real conversation about career, family and life outside work and the different ways women have made leadership work for them.

This won’t be key note presentations where you are talked at. It will be a fireside chat, a conversation where you will get to personally speak with leaders.

The cohort for this program will be deliberately small so you will get to know your peers and the guest speakers.

In this session we will also dive into your personal leadership style to set you up to lead like you and no one else in your career.

Lunch

Over lunch, you’ll have the opportunity to connect directly with female leaders, mentors and other women in the industry.

Ask the questions you actually want answered, have deeper conversations and start building a network of people you can learn from and call on as your career progresses.

Afternoon Session

Bring together everything you’ve learned across the two days. Using the Respected Leader Framework and the insights from your Day 1 experience, you’ll identify your leadership strengths, the areas you want to develop and what matters most to you.

Then you’ll create a personalised career and leadership plan, one that reflects your strengths, your ambitions and your version of success, so you leave knowing what you want to do next and how you’re going to move towards it.

Post Program

Feedback Debrief

You will receive a personalised feedback report with input from your mentors from Day 1. We will meet online as a group to debrief the experience, review mentor feedback and evaluate how this aligns with what’s next for you in your leadership journey.

Ongoing Support

After the two in person days there will be four online group upskilling and coaching sessions to build your capability as a leader. We will cover topics relevant to the cohort (pending mentor feedback and your personal career plans). Previous topics have included communication, business finance, media and navigating difficult conversations.

Your Community of Leaders

Once the event is over you’ll look at yourself in a different way. How did you go? Knock it out the park, or did you get knocked over? Either way, you’ll forever be part of the WeAspire community and we are here to help you stay on track, discover your leadership, and speed up your progress.

Meet the Team

Meet Your Facilitators

Elevate Her is facilitated by Felicity and Michael Furey, co-founders of WeAspire. Together, they’ve spent years working with people across construction and infrastructure, helping emerging and experienced leaders navigate the real challenges that come with stepping into leadership.

Felicity is an engineer, entrepreneur and industry leader who has built her own career while also navigating what it means to become a parent and raise a family. She knows personally that career progression doesn’t happen in isolation from the rest of your life. Her own journey has involved making decisions about ambition, family, identity and what success looks like at different stages of life and finding a way to continue doing meaningful work without following someone else’s version of what a successful career should look like.

Michael is an experienced executive leadership coach who has spent thousands of hours working one-on-one with leaders, helping them better understand themselves, navigate the moments that matter and become the kind of leader they want to be.

Together, they create experiences that are practical, challenging and very real. There are no lectures on how a leader should behave. Instead, you’ll get the opportunity to experience leadership for yourself, understand what works for you and work out what you want your career and leadership to look like next.

Meet the Mentors

WeAspire has a network of more than 60 experienced senior leaders who give their time as mentors. Most are executives, board members or highly experienced industry leaders who have built successful careers across construction, infrastructure, engineering and related industries.

Our mentors don’t all look, think or lead the same way, and that’s the point. Each brings their own experiences, lessons and personal style of leadership. Previous mentors have included board members from large infrastructure assets, a former CEO of Fortune 500 companies, executives of teir 1 construciton companies, the Chair of national engineering not for profit, Chief Strategy Officer of a national accounting and advisory firm, a managing director of an electrical services company, IT directors and leaders in engineering, construction, data and analytics.

During Elevate Her, you’ll meet a diverse group of these leaders and have the opportunity to ask the questions you really want answered. You’ll hear what leadership actually looks like behind the job title, learn from the different paths they’ve taken and see that there is no single way to become a respected and successful leader.

Your Guest Speakers

No keynote presentations and no polished speeches about how successful they are. Instead, you’ll join our guest speakers for intimate fireside conversations about what leadership really looks like behind the scenes.

We’re bringing together female leaders who have walked the path you may be considering so you can know if it’s really for you or not. Hear from senior leaders in Tier 1 construction companies to emerging leaders and women who have recently navigated having children, returning to the industry and continuing to progress their careers.

You’ll hear the stories behind the job titles: the choices they’ve made and the challenges they’ve navigated. Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions you want answered, join the conversation and learn directly from women who have actually done it.

Guest speakers will be announced soon.
