NAWIC QLD SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

Information on prizes and how to enter WeAsp Group (ACN 651 240 416) competitions form part of these Terms and Conditions of Entry.

Who can Enter

To enter you must be a current NAWIC member for the financial year of 2021/22 and a Queensland resident, who has either completed tertiary studies and has a minimum of 3 years industry experience or has a minimum of 5 years industry experience and currently work in the construction and/or related industries.

Employees and immediate family members of staff of WeAspire are excluded from entering the competition.

Entry into the competition means that the entrant warrants that the competitor meets the entry eligibility requirements and accepts these terms and conditions.

How to Enter

Enter by completing and submitting the form at www.weaspire.education/nawic before 11:59pm AEST on Monday 29 November 2021. Only one entry will be accepted per person. 

Winners will be selected by a panel of three judges based on the best answers to the three questions:

  • What are your leadership ambitions?

  • Why are you executive material? 

  • Why should we select you?

Entries will be accepted in written, audio or video formats and must be within the specified word or time limits.

WeAspire holds the right for you to disqualify any entrants due to improper or unlawful conduct. Such improper conduct can include: 

  • infringing a third party’s intellectual property rights; or

  • a breach of the competition terms and conditions.

Competitions are games of skill and as such, winning entries are selected based on the creativity of entries submitted. Entries will be judged based on leadership ambition, authenticity, the demonstration of the values of a modern leader and the impact the scholarship will have on the entrant

WeAspire assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, corruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries. WeAspire is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer networks and systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by the WeAspire on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination of them, including any injury or damage to any entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Competition.

All entries become the property of WeAspire. As such, WeAspire is the owner of all copyright and other intellectual property in the responses.

Important Dates

To enter WeAspire competitions, entrants must answer all competition questions and entries must be received by WeAspire by 5:00pm AEST Brisbane time on the specified closing date.

Key dates of the competition are: 

  • The competition commences at 6:00am on Monday 15 November 2021

  • The competition closes at 11:59pm AEST Monday 29 November 2021

  • The winner will be announced on Thursday 9 December 2021

Costs and Expenses

The competition includes:

  • Aspiring Leaders Program commencing on 2 February 2022 and concluding in November 2022. This leadership training includes a membership to WeAspire Central including access to all Feature Courses and Short Courses. Topics include Leadership Fundamentals, Leadership in Action, Influential Leader and more valued at $3,000 

  • One on one coaching x 3 sessions with industry leading mentors to personalise your career journey valued at $1,500 

  • VIP ticket to the Executive Experience Day in your the closest capital city, including return flights valued at $4,000

The winner is responsible for any and all other expenses incurred in entering or winning the competition. You will not be reimbursed regardless of whether or not you win the competition. WeAspire accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize (or part thereof).

Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winning and may wish to seek independent financial advice prior to the acceptance of the prize.

Privacy

WeAspire will comply with the Australian Privacy Policy and our privacy policy which can be found here: https://www.weaspire.education/privacy-policy 

Each entrant's personal information is collected to enable WeAspire to administer and promote this Competition and the winner. The personal information of winners may be provided to third parties who are assisting WeAspire, including prize suppliers, deliverers and authorities that regulate competitions. Entrants who fail to provide all requested personal information, may be determined by WeAspire, at its sole discretion to be ineligible to win a prize. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the WeAspire's discretion. Failure by the WeAspire to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

Selection and Notification

Prize winners of WeAspire are selected on the specified competition judging date. Winners are contacted by email or mail within 2 business days of announcement on 9 December at the NAWIC QLD Breakfast event and may be announced on the WeAspire’s websites or social media channels. The winner will be selected by Friday 3 December 2021 and be personally notified by email and phone if successful on Thursday 9 December 2021 in person or by phone.

WeAspire will make every reasonable effort to locate and notify the winner.

The judges' decision is final and binding. As such, no correspondence will be entered into.

Subject to the unclaimed prize draw clause, if for any reason a winner does not take the prize or an element of the prize by the time stipulated by WeAspire, then the prize or that element of the prize will be forfeited.

All prize winners agree to the use of their name and suburb for publicity and competition purposes, without compensation.

Prize Requirements and General Conditions

The main prize will be delivered on and by the following:

  • Aspiring Leaders Program commencing on 2 February 2022 and concluding in November 2022 through the online delivery platform WeAspire Central

  • One on one coaching sessions will be delivered via zoom before December 2022

  • Executive Experience Day on 21 October 2022 in person in Brisbane, Australia. If the winner is unable to travel due to COVID restrictions or other circumstances, the event will be made accessible online. Flights to the event will be booked by 7 October 2022.

The prize is not transferable’ and not redeemable for cash. The winner cannot transfer a prize to another person. Further, the winner cannot request cash in exchange for the prize.

The prizes are subject to conditions imposed by third party suppliers or organisers including airlines and hotels. The winner may need to supply identification upon collection of the prize. 

If any prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, WeAspire reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value.

WeAspire shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

As a condition of accepting the prize, the winner (and his/her companion – where applicable) must sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by WeAspire and/or prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.

If for any reason the competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of WeAspire, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this competition, WeAspire reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.

In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes, pandemics; WeAspire may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions at a later date.
